XRP Could Be Approaching a Major Move as Consolidation Tightens

XRP may be getting closer to the point where its long period of sideways movement finally comes to an end. The token has spent the past few months struggling to establish a clear direction, but its current price structure is beginning to attract more attention.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez believes XRP is getting closer to a significant move as the token continues to trade within a tightening triangle pattern.

XRP Faces a Key Breakout Test

The narrowing triangle is becoming increasingly important as XRP moves closer to its apex. A move away from this structure could provide a clearer indication of where the market is heading.

For XRP, the first hurdle remains around the $1.53 level. Martinez believes that a four-hour candle closing above this area could confirm a bullish breakout, potentially sending XRP toward $1.62.

Until that happens, however, the token remains within its current consolidation range.

Whales Stay Quiet as Accumulation Continues

There has also been little change among large XRP holders recently. Whales have remained largely inactive over the past week, showing no significant increase or decrease in their holdings.

Despite this, XRP’s accumulation signal remains strong. This keeps the token’s current setup interesting as traders wait for a decisive move out of the triangle.

Bigger Move Still Possible

The broader setup also leaves room for a much larger advance if the September low remains intact.

The move higher from the August low is impulsive, keeping the door open for XRP to push into a significantly higher target zone. As long as the September low holds, the bullish setup remains intact.

For now, XRP still has to clear its immediate resistance. A confirmed breakout could determine whether the token is finally ready to move beyond its months-long consolidation.

🚀Bitcoin Leads as 5 Cryptos Face Major October Catalysts

October begins with several developments that could shape the crypto market over the coming weeks. Bitcoin remains the asset setting the broader direction, but Ethereum, Solana, Chainlink, and BNB also have important events ahead that could affect their respective ecosystems.

The month also comes with a major macroeconomic checkpoint. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to meet on October 27 and 28, meaning the market will have to balance crypto-specific developments with expectations around US monetary policy.

📊 Bitcoin Enters October with Stronger ETF Demand

Bitcoin finished September around $84,000, recovering as demand for US spot ETFs picked up. Between September 21 and 25, those funds attracted approximately $2.4 billion, giving the market a fresh indication of institutional interest.

There is also a seasonal factor working in Bitcoin’s favor. BTC has ended October higher in 10 of the 13 years from 2013 through 2025. That history has helped give October its “Uptober” reputation, although there is no guarantee the pattern will repeat this year.

For the wider market, Bitcoin’s price action and ETF flows remain important because major moves in BTC often influence sentiment across altcoins.

🔧 Ethereum and Solana Have Major Technical Tests Ahead

Ethereum’s attention turns to October 6, when developers are scheduled to test the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Sepolia testnet. Glamsterdam is expected to bring changes to Ethereum’s block design and verification processes.

The test is significant because it can show whether development remains on track for the upgrade’s expected fourth-quarter rollout.

Solana has a different target. Its planned Agave 4.3 release includes Alpenglow, a new consensus system designed to bring transaction finality down to roughly 150 milliseconds, compared with about 12.8 seconds under TowerBFT.

That would represent a substantial change in how quickly transactions can reach finality on the network.

🔗 Chainlink and BNB Focus on Infrastructure

Chainlink enters the month after introducing CCIP 2.0 on September 28. The new version adds features around compliance, transaction verification, and cross-chain transfers, putting greater emphasis on the infrastructure needed to move assets between networks.

BNB Chain, meanwhile, is preparing Jenner, following its recent Pasteur upgrade. The hard fork is expected to reach testnet toward the end of October, with a mainnet release targeted for November.

Jenner is designed to support regulatory-compliant assets and dedicate block capacity to payments, reinforcing BNB Chain’s focus on stablecoins, payments, and tokenized assets.

So while Bitcoin remains the market’s main reference point, October brings meaningful developments across four other major networks. The outcome will depend on how these upgrades perform, how capital flows into crypto, and whether the Fed provides a supportive or restrictive backdrop later this month.

🥇 Gold ETFs Hit a Record 4,189 Tons as Bitcoin Draws Fresh Capital
Gold-backed ETFs reached a record 4,189 tons at the end of August after attracting $18 billion in a single month. Their assets under management climbed 16% to $615 billion, while gold itself gained around 13% in August and ended the month near $4,563 per ounce. Porsche has ended its Web3 project, and Pioneers Circle club built around its digital 911 NFTs. The German manufacturer announced the closure on October 1, leaving the 2,363 NFTs already issued in their holders’ wallets. No repurchase, destruction, or migration is planned, while the project’s Discord will become a read-only archive and its official X account will stop publishing updates. Porsche originally launched the collection in January 2023 with 7,500 customizable NFTs priced at 0.911 ETH but stopped the sale after issuing only 2,363 tokens amid weak demand. Although the collection generated nearly $20 million in transactions since launch, activity has fallen sharply: around $38,000 over the past year and only about $2,900 in the last month.

🔐 NEAR Intents Fixes Vulnerability After $3.8 Million Crypto Hack
NEAR Intents suffered a $3.8 million hack on October 1 after a flaw was found in the interaction between its smart contract and Omni, the infrastructure handling certain deposits and withdrawals. The protocol suspended its services during the investigation and says the contract vulnerability has been fixed. It has also promised to fully reimburse affected users and claims to have identified the alleged attacker, giving them 48 hours to return the assets. According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, some stolen funds passed through KuCoin before moving onto the Bitcoin network. NEAR Intents has published addresses for potential restitution in Bitcoin, BNB, and Solana, but no effective reimbursement had been publicly confirmed when the article was published.

🇪🇺 Four Crypto Firms Receive MiCA Approval in Greece as Binance Stays Out
Greece now has four crypto providers listed in the ESMA MiCA register: BCash, Xenios Blockchain Group, Capital Wallet Greece and Piraeus Bank. The first three were authorized by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission between June 30 and July 22, while Piraeus Bank received approval from the Bank of Greece on August 7. Their entries appeared in the European register on September 24, between 48 and 86 days after authorization. Binance is absent after withdrawing its Greek application on June 24, seven days before the end of the transition period. The HCMC has rejected claims that ECB President Christine Lagarde intervened in the Binance case. Under MiCA, national authorities designated by each member state are responsible for authorizations.

Bitcoin Could Be Building Toward Its Next Major Rally

Bitcoin may still be in the early stages of preparing for its next major upward move, with large investors appearing to play a bigger role in the market than retail traders.

Large Investors Remain Active

According to crypto analyst CW, the market has not yet experienced the level of spot demand that has historically accompanied Bitcoin’s strongest rallies. Much of the current activity is being driven by whales, while smaller investors have yet to return in significant numbers.

CW pointed to the previous market cycle as an example. The major Bitcoin rally gained momentum when trading activity shifted away from large whale orders and became more dominated by regular-sized orders. For the analyst, that change is important because it shows that retail investors are beginning to participate more actively.

At present, however, that transition has not happened.

Retail Participation Could Change the Market

CW believes whales are using the current period to build their positions. They are accumulating Bitcoin in the spot market while also establishing futures positions, with these activities gradually supporting the price.

The analyst expects the situation to change once these preparations are complete. A stronger price move could attract public attention, potentially bringing more retail investors into the market. As retail participation increases, whales could then begin selling some of the Bitcoin they accumulated at lower prices.

This, according to CW, reflects the pattern often seen during a bull market.

For now, the analyst says the market is still waiting for the signal that would indicate this transition is taking place. He described the disappearance of the current green signal and the appearance of the normal signal as an important indication that the real rally may be beginning.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin is already seeing stronger money flows through ETFs. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $2.39 billion in net inflows during the latest week, their highest weekly inflow since October 2025.

🤖 Bill Gates Calls for Stronger Government Oversight of Powerful AI

Bill Gates is urging governments to take a more active role in managing the risks associated with increasingly powerful artificial intelligence. The Microsoft co-founder believes current AI systems have reached a level where stronger external oversight is necessary, arguing that technology companies should not be left to regulate themselves.

Speaking during an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Gates discussed the potential consequences of advanced AI and the need for governments to prepare for risks that could become increasingly difficult to control.

🤖 AI’s Growing Capabilities Raise New Risks

Gates warned that the capabilities of advanced AI could contribute to extremely serious events. To illustrate the possible scale of such a disaster, he said AI could potentially be involved in circumstances resulting in up to one billion deaths.

The figure was presented as an extreme possibility rather than a prediction. His broader concern is that increasingly capable AI could amplify existing threats, including cyberattacks, biological risks, and autonomous systems that become difficult for humans to manage.

For Gates, the rapid development of AI means governments need to understand these risks before the technology becomes even more capable.

🏛️ Self-Regulation May Not Be Enough

A major part of Gates’ argument is that AI safety cannot be handled entirely by the companies building these systems. He said self-regulation is not sufficient, pointing instead to the need for politicians, regulators, and law enforcement agencies to be involved.

🌍 Gates Still Sees AI as a Force for Good

His warnings do not amount to a rejection of artificial intelligence. Gates continues to point to opportunities for AI to improve healthcare, education, and agriculture, particularly in regions where access to expertise and infrastructure remains limited.

The Gates Foundation plans to invest at least $1 billion over two years in expanding access to AI solutions in these areas. It is also working with companies including Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI on improving AI support for underrepresented languages.

🏆 Solana’s Tokenized Assets Reach a Record $4.6 Billion
Tokenized real-world assets on Solana reached a record $4.6 billion on September 23, according to RWA.xyz, up 11.47% over 30 days. The figure includes $4.49 billion in assets actually distributed on-chain, while the remainder comes from securities represented by issuer-declared values that do not necessarily circulate on the blockchain. 📉 Crypto Treasury Companies Fall Below the Value of Their Reserves
The crypto treasury model is facing a sharp change as most major companies in the sector now trade below the value of the digital assets they hold. DWF Ventures found that only four of the 20 largest Digital Asset Treasuries still have an mNAV above 1: Bit Digital, Strive, Hyperliquid Strategies and BitMine. The other 16 trade below the value of their crypto reserves. Sequans Communications has gone further, selling its final 314 BTC and ending its Bitcoin strategy entirely. The French semiconductor company had accumulated more than 3,200 BTC at its peak after launching the strategy in June 2025. The decline in mNAV also makes issuing new shares to finance additional Bitcoin purchases less attractive, as dilution becomes harder to justify.

🏦 Institutions Keep Their Crypto Allocations Despite a 50% Market Drop
A Bitwise survey of 15 institutional investors found that none reduced their crypto allocations during a market decline of roughly 50%. Several even used the pullback to increase their positions. The sample included endowments, foundations, public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and publicly traded companies, with crypto representing between 0.5% and 13% of their investable assets, mostly between 1% and 2%. Bitcoin generally remained the oldest and largest crypto position across the portfolios. By contrast, decisions around Ether and Solana were more closely tied to network adoption and use cases such as stablecoins, DeFi, and tokenization. Almost all surveyed institutions already used or planned to use spot crypto ETFs, with some moving away from private placements and direct custody.

The $82.8 million increase was recorded across Uniswap V4 and V3 during the past month. While the protocol has seen notable growth in tokenized stock DeFi TVL, UNI is also showing a different but related development in its price activity.

Strong accumulation has been taking place around the token’s current level, with the trend continuing for a considerable period following its previous rise. Rather than immediately continuing higher, UNI has spent time consolidating after that move.

🔄 UNI Retests After Its Previous Rise

UNI is currently trading at $8.63, down from around $9.30. The decline has created a price structure that somewhat resembles a retest following the earlier upward move.

This gives the current price action a different context from a simple drop. The extended accumulation following the previous rise suggests that the token has been gathering energy at these levels.

With UNI holding around $8.63 after moving down from $9.30, attention now remains on how this accumulation develops. The combination of Uniswap’s recent TVL growth and the ongoing accumulation around UNI keeps the token’s current price structure in focus as it gathers energy for its next potential upward move.

🚀Bitcoin Overtakes Tesla and Samsung as Its Market Value Climbs

Bitcoin has pushed further up the global asset rankings after its latest recovery, moving ahead of both Tesla and Samsung in market capitalization. The shift comes as BTC climbed above $81,000, giving the cryptocurrency a valuation that now puts it among the world’s largest assets.

📈 Bitcoin moves into 13th place

Bitcoin’s market capitalization reached roughly $1.63 trillion, according to CompaniesMarketCap data. That puts it above Tesla at $1.438 trillion and Samsung at $1.237 trillion.

The change follows Bitcoin’s recent price recovery. BTC touched $81,914 on Saturday, extending a four-session winning streak after falling to around $74,962 earlier in the week.

With Bitcoin now ranked 13th among the assets tracked by CompaniesMarketCap, Tesla sits in 14th place and Samsung follows in 15th. The ranking can shift quickly, however, as it is directly tied to changes in asset prices and company valuations.

🔥 BTC recovers despite market setbacks

Bitcoin’s climb came despite several developments that initially put pressure on the broader crypto market. Expectations around US monetary policy weighed on risk assets, while the Clarity Act received only 49 Senate votes, falling short of the 60 needed to advance.

Bitcoin briefly slipped below $74,887 following the vote before finding support. From its midweek low near $74,962, BTC then staged a strong recovery, gaining for four straight sessions before traders began taking profits.

The move above $81,000 showed that the negative headlines did not prevent buyers from returning to the market.

🏛️ SEC decision adds another market catalyst

The recovery also coincided with a new development from the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The regulator issued an order introducing an “innovation exemption” that permits certain platforms to offer tokenized versions of listed US stocks.

The decision immediately added another layer to the market narrative, particularly as tokenized traditional assets continue attracting attention.

By the latest update, Bitcoin was trading around $82,340.35, up approximately 2% over 24 hours, keeping its market capitalization ahead of Tesla and Samsung.

France’s Council of State has rejected an urgent request from Bull Bitcoin and Paymium to suspend the French decree implementing DAC8. Bitcoin Rally Comes Under Pressure as ETF Flows Turn Negative

Bitcoin had something going for it over the past three weeks: steady ETF inflows.

Those positive flows helped support the recent rally, giving the market some strength as Bitcoin pushed higher. But that support has now taken a different direction.

This week, ETFs recorded outflows of nearly 6,000 BTC. That is a notable shift from the trend seen over the previous three weeks and could make Bitcoin’s current position more difficult to defend.

The timing is particularly important because spot demand is already weak. So, with one source of support now fading, Bitcoin may have less behind its current move.

Spot Demand Remains the Big Concern

Crypto analyst Darkfost expects a volatile week ahead, and the weakness in spot demand helps explain why there is caution around Bitcoin’s current setup.

The concern is straightforward. If people are not showing strong demand for Bitcoin in the spot market, and ETF flows begin weakening again, it becomes harder to see what is providing solid support for the rally.

A CryptoQuant contributor made a similar observation, saying Bitcoin’s rally currently lacks conviction without stronger spot support.

Is Bitcoin Entering a Derivatives-Driven Phase?

The CryptoQuant contributor also pointed to similarities between the current market structure and patterns seen in January–February and March 2026.

According to the contributor, this suggests Bitcoin could be moving into a derivatives-driven phase.

That matters because a rally without sustained spot demand is less convincing. Bitcoin can continue moving higher, but weak spot support leaves questions around how strong the advance really is.

For now, the picture is becoming more cautious. ETF outflows have returned, spot demand remains weak, and a potentially volatile week lies ahead. Bitcoin’s next moves could show whether buyers are ready to provide the support the rally currently needs.

📉 Ethereum Pulls in $216M as Bitcoin ETFs Face Another Outflow

The balance of power in US crypto ETFs is starting to look different. Bitcoin funds have now suffered four straight sessions of withdrawals, while Ethereum products are attracting hundreds of millions of dollars. On Friday, September 11, the gap became particularly noticeable, suggesting that institutional investors are still engaging with crypto but may be becoming more selective about where they put their money.

💸 Bitcoin ETFs struggle to regain momentum

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $13.29 million in net outflows on Friday, extending a four-day losing run. Across the week, withdrawals reached $462.73 million, a sharp reversal from the $986.9 million in net inflows recorded during the previous week.

BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for the largest single withdrawal on Friday at $19.23 million. There were some exceptions, however. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT attracted $3.76 million, while VanEck’s HODL brought in another $2.18 million.

Trading volume across Bitcoin ETFs reached $2.60 billion, while total net assets stood at around $97.58 billion. Bitcoin itself remains near $77,000, adding to the cautious mood surrounding the funds.

🟣 Ethereum ETFs attract serious institutional demand

Ethereum is currently telling a very different story. The six US spot Ether ETFs collected $216.41 million on Friday, with BlackRock’s ETHA responsible for the largest portion at $148.82 million.

Bitwise’s ETHW attracted $29.09 million, while BlackRock’s ETHB and Fidelity’s FETH received $18.32 million and $11.40 million, respectively.

The funds generated $2.56 billion in trading volume, pushing their combined net assets to approximately $16.31 billion. More importantly, Ether ETFs have now completed a fourth consecutive week of positive flows, with roughly $197 million entering the products over the latest week.

That does not yet prove a permanent shift from Bitcoin to Ethereum, but the contrast is becoming difficult to overlook.

🌡️ Inflation and the Fed could decide what happens next

The latest US inflation figures add another piece to the puzzle. Consumer prices increased 0.4% month-on-month in August, while annual inflation reached 3.4%. Core inflation stood at 2.4% year-on-year, although the monthly core reading came in at 0.3%.

That leaves the Federal Reserve firmly in focus. Its approach to interest rates could influence whether investors continue reducing exposure to Bitcoin ETFs or return to the market.

For now, the message is mixed. Bitcoin ETFs are losing money despite their enormous asset base, while Ethereum products are attracting more than $200 million in a single session. If Bitcoin records a fifth consecutive day of withdrawals, concerns about its near-term demand could grow. If Ethereum continues producing similarly strong inflows, however, the recent divergence may start looking less like a temporary difference and more like a genuine change in investor preference.

🥇CZ Predicts Bitcoin Could Surpass Gold in the Next Bull Market
Changpeng Zhao believes Bitcoin could overtake gold in market capitalization as soon as the next bull cycle. His view rests on a narrowing valuation gap, the potential acceleration from another crypto rally and greater adoption of Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset by governments. Hunter Biden’s LAPTOP memecoin has fallen 99.8% from its record high, just days after two public mentions triggered the project’s built-in political mechanism. Welcome to another edition of our weekly newsletter. Bitcoin has held steady above $77K, keeping the crypto community feeling positive. Here’s a quick look at some of the top stories from the past week.

Uniswap Price Jumps 30% as Fee Burns and Whale Buying Supports UNI

Uniswap (UNI) is making a strong move in the market, with the token’s price rising by more than 30% over the past week. The rally comes as activity around the DeFi protocol points to growing fee generation and increasing token burns.

Crypto analyst Emperor Osmo believes UNI is becoming one of the clearest examples of a reflexive DeFi play. His argument centres on a simple cycle: rising volume generates fees, fees lead to UNI burns, burns reduce supply, and reduced supply can strengthen value capture.

Uniswap’s Fee Burns Gain Attention

One of the key developments behind the UNI narrative is Uniswap’s fee switch. Osmo noted that it is currently burning approximately $598,000 worth of UNI each day.

At that pace, the annualised figure would reach around $220 million, equivalent to roughly 5.5% of supply value being burnt each year. Notably, this calculation is based on V3 alone.

That makes activity on V4 particularly important. According to Osmo, Uniswap V4 is already generating more than $10 million in fees per day, which is about 12 times the amount produced by V3.

With V4 already operating at that level, the growing fee activity is adding another layer to the story surrounding UNI.

Arthur Hayes Adds to UNI’s Whale Activity

As UNI’s price continues to climb, large investors are also accumulating the token. Arthur Hayes purchased 244,406 UNI worth approximately $1.73 million during the weekend.

The purchase comes as Uniswap moves closer to Tether in terms of fees. Uniswap founder Hayden Adams said the protocol is only about 10% more volume away from surpassing Tether in fees.

With UNI up more than 30% in a week, daily burns underway and whale accumulation continuing, Uniswap’s growing fee activity is becoming an increasingly important part of the token’s current market story.

📈 Bitcoin’s $82K Wall Keeps the Recovery in Check

Bitcoin’s recent rebound has hit a pause. After climbing to around $82,239 on September 3, BTC has struggled to push higher and is now hovering close to $80,000. The market still has a relatively strong technical foundation, but weaker weekend trading activity and cooling momentum suggest buyers are not yet ready to take full control.

🚧 $82,000 remains the big hurdle

Bitcoin spent the weekend moving in a tight range, with the first major support area sitting between $79,586 and $80,147. A move above $80,147 could open the way toward $80,335 and then $80,523. On the other hand, losing $79,586 could expose BTC to a decline toward $78,650–$78,700.

The bigger obstacle remains the $82,000 region. Bitcoin reached roughly $82,239 earlier in the week before sellers stepped in and pushed the price back toward $78,000. Since then, the market has largely settled around the $80,000 area.

Trading activity is also much quieter. Bitcoin’s 24-hour volume is around $20.21 billion, compared with roughly $35–40 billion recorded around September 4 and 5. That makes any weekend breakout harder to trust unless stronger volume follows.

📊 The trend is still positive, but momentum is cooling

The broader daily picture hasn’t broken down. Bitcoin remains above its 10-day moving average at $78,771 and its 20-day average at $77,231, keeping the larger recovery structure intact.

Still, momentum indicators are becoming less convincing. The daily RSI is 66.71, close to but still below the traditional 70 overbought level. The MACD is showing a bearish reading, while the momentum indicator sits at -379. Together, these signals suggest that Bitcoin’s upward push has lost some speed since the September 3 high.

Moving averages provide a more encouraging picture, with the major daily averages continuing to point upward. However, Bitcoin must clear the $80,335–$82,239 resistance zone before traders can confidently call the latest pause another leg higher.

🔎 The next move could come from either side

For now, Bitcoin is caught between a strong resistance zone above and several layers of support underneath. A sustained break beyond $82,239 would strengthen the case for another upward move, while a drop below $79,586 would put $78,650 and eventually $76,200–$75,000 on the radar.

Derivatives positioning also shows a market that still leans toward calls, with calls accounting for about 61.69% of open positions, compared with 38.31% for puts.

The key issue now is confirmation. Bitcoin can continue consolidating around $80,000, but a decisive move will mean more if it comes with a noticeable increase in trading volume. Until then, the recovery remains intact—but the $82,000 barrier is clearly standing in its way.

The US Department of Justice announced the seizure of more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency linked to fundraising activities attributed to Hamas. The FBI also took control of domains and servers used to collect donations through the site Alqassam.ps. An earlier operation had recovered $201,400 from wallets connected to the fundraising system, which authorities say transferred more than $1.5 million since October 2024. 📊 Goldman Sachs Tops Institutional XRP ETF Holdings With $87.45 Million
Goldman Sachs held the largest disclosed position in XRP ETFs among institutional holders covered by second-quarter 13F filings. Today marks the last day of August, and it’s been quite a ride for crypto this month. Here’s a quick look at some of the key stories from the past week.

Without further ado, let’s move on to point 1!

August’s Crypto Rally Had More Than One Story

As August comes to an end today, crypto can look back on a month when prices moved higher across several assets. However, data from Santiment, the onchain data provider, suggests that the attention behind the rally did not move through the market all at once.

Instead, different assets attracted attention at different points, giving August’s rally a more interesting story than the overall price gains alone suggest.

Zcash and Hyperliquid Stood Out

Zcash recorded one of the biggest changes in social attention. During the ten days after August 19, its social dominance averaged 183% above its pre-rally level.

Hyperliquid also saw a notable increase, with its social dominance averaging 44% above its previous level during the same period.

Bitcoin and Ethereum experienced smaller changes by comparison. Bitcoin dominance increased by around 12%, while Ethereum rose approximately 8% over the same period.

The timing of the price peaks adds another layer to the picture. Ethereum reached its peak on August 11, and Zcash on August 22, while Bitcoin and Hyperliquid both peaked on August 26.

In other words, the assets did not all reach their highs at the same time. Each had its own moment during the month.

Bitcoin’s Strength Adds Another Layer

Bitcoin’s numbers offer another interesting part of the story. Santiment reported that Bitcoin’s social volume increased by roughly 9% in August compared with July, while its price climbed approximately 26%.

This gap also fits into the way capital can move during a rally. Altcoins can perform strongly during an initial move as short positions are closed or squeezed. But when fresh capital returns to the market, Bitcoin can become the stronger performer on subsequent moves.

That does not mean altcoins are left behind permanently. Some can regain their strength and shine again as the rally develops.

Taken together, the figures give August a different shape. The crypto market moved broadly, but the attention was not distributed evenly. Ethereum, Zcash, Bitcoin and Hyperliquid all had their moments, with each reaching its peak at a different point in the month.

August was a rally, but it was not a crowd moving together. It was a queue, with each asset taking its turn.

📉 Bitcoin ETFs Break Their Winning Run as $3B Inflow Streak Fades

Bitcoin’s ETF story has hit a speed bump. After attracting billions of dollars over nine straight trading sessions, spot Bitcoin ETFs finally recorded a day of net withdrawals on August 28. The outflow itself was relatively small compared with the money that had entered the funds in recent weeks, but it comes as Bitcoin struggles to stay above $80,000. That combination has traders wondering whether this is simply investors taking profits or the beginning of a broader shift in sentiment.

💸 Billions flowed in, then investors pulled back

Bitcoin ETFs saw $201.8 million in net outflows on August 28, bringing an end to a nine-day run that generated more than $3 billion in cumulative inflows. ARKB experienced the largest withdrawal at $114.9 million, followed by BITB with $49.7 million and IBIT with $33.4 million. Morgan Stanley’s fund went against the trend, attracting $9.3 million.

Despite the setback, August remains the strongest month of 2026 for Bitcoin ETFs, with approximately $3.3 billion in net inflows. Total assets have slipped to about $97.6 billion after briefly moving above $100 billion.

So, one day of selling does not necessarily mean institutions are walking away. The latest withdrawal represents only around 6.6% of the $3 billion accumulated during the previous streak.

🥇 Ethereum and Solana ETFs tell a different story

While Bitcoin ETFs experienced withdrawals, other crypto investment products continued attracting capital. Ethereum ETFs recorded their 12th consecutive day of inflows, adding $102.2 million on August 28. XRP ETFs also brought in $26.2 million.

Solana’s ETF market has been particularly notable, reaching approximately $1.7 billion in cumulative flows. One Bitwise Solana ETF even crossed the $1 billion mark on its own.

Ether has also recently outperformed Bitcoin, gaining 31.3% for the week compared with Bitcoin’s 23.6%. That performance raises the possibility that some investors are temporarily shifting capital towards alternative cryptocurrencies rather than leaving the crypto market altogether.

📊 Bitcoin faces another test below $80,000

Bitcoin’s price has become the bigger concern. BTC fell from above $81,000 to around $77,500, with the $80,000–$82,000 region proving difficult to overcome.

Glassnode data shows that around 8% of Bitcoin’s supply was acquired within that range, including roughly 5% around $80,000 alone. Bitcoin’s 50-week moving average sits near $81,081, adding another layer of resistance.

The market also had to absorb the expiration of roughly $6.4 billion in Bitcoin options, which may have reduced some of the buying pressure around $80,000.

For now, $77,500 is an important level, while a deeper decline could bring $75,000 into focus. A recovery above $78,500 would offer traders a more encouraging signal.

The bigger test comes next. With employment data and CPI figures due before the Fed’s September 16 meeting, investors have several catalysts to watch. If Bitcoin remains below $80,000 while Ethereum, Solana and other assets continue attracting capital, the current rotation could become more meaningful. But if ETF inflows return, the recent outflow may ultimately prove to be nothing more than a brief pause.

⚠️ 77% of Americans consider crypto risky for retirement
A National Institute on Retirement Security survey of 1,203 Americans aged 25 and older found that 77% consider cryptocurrencies risky investments for workplace retirement plans. Among them, 46% described crypto as very risky and 31% as somewhat risky. The survey also found that 53% oppose employers offering crypto as a 401(k) investment option, while 26% support it. Only 9% of respondents said they already hold this type of investment, and 15% described themselves as very familiar with crypto.

🤖 Anthropic puts a $30 trillion ceiling on AI’s potential market
Anthropic is reportedly presenting investors with a total addressable market of more than $30 trillion as it prepares for a potential IPO. The figure represents theoretical annual revenue if the company captured 100% of the activities it considers automatable with AI, including programming, research, finance, media, healthcare, logistics and customer service. 🏦 BIS questions stablecoins as large-scale payment infrastructure
BIS General Manager Pablo Hernández de Cos said at Jackson Hole on August 28 that stablecoins do not provide sufficient guarantees to become the foundation for large-scale payments. Bitcoin Shows Signs of Life as BTC Climbs to $77K

Bitcoin is showing signs of life again after spending months struggling to find a clear direction. The cryptocurrency has now posted gains for six straight days, pushing its price to around $77,000 as buyers gradually return to the market.

That recovery is also being supported by growing demand from US investors. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in inflows last week, making it their strongest weekly performance since October 2025. With both the price and institutional demand moving higher, attention is now shifting to what could happen if Bitcoin continues its climb.

Bitcoin’s Recent Rally Leaves Key Levels Behind

As Bitcoin moves away from the lower price range, some areas below the current price could become important if the rally loses steam. Crypto analyst Joao Wedson pointed to $61,000 and $57,000 as two levels worth watching based on positions opened during the past month.

A sizeable number of traders entered the market when Bitcoin was trading between $65,000 and $68,000. If the price eventually drops toward $61,000, some of those positions could come under pressure. A move down to $57,000 would put even more leveraged trades at risk, particularly positions opened when Bitcoin was between $63,000 and $66,000.

The reason these levels matter is not simply because traders bought around them. They may also contain stop-loss orders. Traders often use these orders to automatically exit a position if the market moves against them, meaning a sharp decline could trigger additional selling.

$85,000 Could Bring Another Wave of Volatility

Bitcoin’s upside also comes with potential liquidation risks. Wedson identified the $85,000 to $86,000 area as another zone to watch, although the positions there are mostly older than 30 days.

If Bitcoin reaches that range, some of those leveraged positions could be forced to close, adding to price volatility.

For now, the six-day winning streak and strong ETF inflows suggest that Bitcoin’s recovery is gaining attention. Still, the concentration of leveraged positions on both sides means the road toward higher prices may not be completely smooth.

💰 Strategy Builds a $4.8B War Chest as Bitcoin Options Expand

Strategy is giving itself more room to maneuver as the Bitcoin market becomes harder to predict. The company now has $4.8 billion in cash, and Michael Saylor says that reserve could be used in several ways depending on market conditions. That could mean buying more Bitcoin, repurchasing shares or preferred securities, or paying down debt. At the same time, the company wants to remain flexible enough to sell Bitcoin when circumstances call for it.

🏦 Strategy keeps multiple options open

A falling MSTR share price has made the company’s capital strategy more complicated. The stock is down roughly 38% since the beginning of 2026 and about 73% over the past year, partly reflecting Bitcoin’s weakness and the repeated issuance of new shares.

Strategy is not rushing into a buyback, but Saylor has indicated that repurchases could become attractive if MSTR trades significantly below the value of the assets backing it. For now, the company is putting greater attention on its preferred securities, particularly STRC, while continuing to use new capital to support its Bitcoin strategy when conditions are favorable.

💵 Why the $4.8B cash reserve matters

The cash pile gives Strategy something it has not always had in abundance: flexibility. Management wants to maintain enough liquidity to cover obligations linked to its preferred shares while keeping capital available for other opportunities.

Saylor has described several possible uses for the reserve, including Bitcoin purchases, share or preferred-security buybacks, and debt reduction. This means the money is not being held solely for another Bitcoin acquisition.

The company is also prepared for the opposite scenario. Saylor believes Strategy needs to be capable of selling Bitcoin when market conditions justify it, rather than treating accumulation as a one-way strategy.

📊 Bitcoin’s price could influence the next move

Strategy is paying particular attention to Bitcoin’s long-term trend. Trading significantly above its 200-week moving average could encourage the company to hold onto more of the capital it raises, while a move toward or below that benchmark could create a more attractive environment for additional purchases.

The same flexible approach applies to STRC, which is designed primarily around dividend income and maintaining a price near $100. Strategy can issue more of the preferred stock when conditions are favorable and potentially support it through buybacks if its price falls.

For now, the $4.8 billion reserve gives Strategy several paths forward. Whether the company ultimately buys more Bitcoin, repurchases securities, reduces debt, or sells some of its holdings will depend largely on Bitcoin’s price, available cash flow, and broader market conditions.

XRP Falls Deeper Into Bearish Territory

XRP is facing renewed selling pressure as the broader cryptocurrency market remains firmly in the red, pushing the token significantly below its previous all-time high. The asset is now down 71.7% from its July 2025 peak of $3.66, with the decline also weighing heavily on market sentiment.

According to on-chain analytics firm Santiment, negative commentary surrounding XRP surged last week as the token struggled to stage a meaningful recovery. Discussions across social media and crypto communities reached their most bearish levels in roughly three months, highlighting growing pessimism among investors regarding XRP’s near-term outlook.

With the price now trading below the $1 mark, retail sentiment could remain weak, particularly after such a prolonged correction. However, the growing negativity does not tell the entire story.

XRP Ledger Activity Offers a Different Signal

While sentiment has deteriorated, activity on the XRP Ledger has moved in the opposite direction. XRP recorded 49,929 active addresses over a 24-hour period, marking its highest level of network activity in more than two months.

The increase is particularly notable because activity had previously fallen toward its lowest levels of 2026 earlier in July. A rebound in participation could therefore provide an important counterpoint to the prevailing bearish mood, especially if network usage continues to strengthen.

This divergence between price action and on-chain activity suggests that investors should look beyond sentiment alone when assessing XRP’s outlook. Although elevated network participation does not guarantee a price recovery, it indicates that interest in the asset has not completely disappeared.

Whales Continue to Accumulate XRP

Large holders are also showing signs of confidence despite the market downturn. On August 13, crypto analyst Ali Martinez reported that whales had accumulated more than 72 million XRP.

The accumulation adds another layer to the developing picture. While retail investors remain increasingly fearful, larger holders appear willing to buy into the weakness. If XRP can maintain its current structure and attract renewed demand, the extreme pessimism surrounding the token could eventually create the conditions for a recovery.

For now, however, XRP remains under significant pressure, with sentiment, price performance, and broader market weakness keeping the bears firmly in control.

🪙 Bitcoin’s 21 Million Limit Faces a New Test as Mining Rewards Shrink

Bitcoin’s famous 21 million coin limit is facing renewed scrutiny, not because the cap is about to change, but because developers are increasingly thinking about what happens when new Bitcoin issuance eventually stops. Developer Peter Todd has suggested keeping a small mining reward after 2140, while Blockstream CEO Adam Back strongly disagrees. For now, there is no active plan to alter Bitcoin’s supply rules, but the debate raises an important question about how the network will pay miners in the distant future.

⛏️ What happens when Bitcoin rewards disappear?

More than 20 million BTC have now been mined, leaving roughly 1 million coins to be created. Miners currently receive 3.125 BTC per block, with the reward cut roughly every four years. If that schedule continues, the final fractions of Bitcoin should be issued around 2140.

Once that happens, miners will have to rely entirely on transaction fees. Todd argues that fees could be unpredictable, potentially making Bitcoin mining less attractive and creating incentives for miners to manipulate the blockchain in search of more profitable transactions.

His proposal is to introduce a small, ongoing issuance to provide miners with a more consistent source of income. He also points to permanently lost Bitcoin as another reason for considering the idea.

⚔️ Adam Back pushes back on the proposal

Back has rejected the suggestion, warning that arguments for changing Bitcoin’s monetary rules could make a controversial modification appear more acceptable to users who do not fully understand its consequences.

The disagreement comes after the recent BIP-110 controversy, which received only about 2.53% miner support, well below its proposed 55% threshold. Back sees the latest supply debate as another example of how changes to Bitcoin’s rules can generate strong resistance.

🔐 Changing the cap would be far from simple

Increasing Bitcoin’s supply would require a hard fork, meaning the network could split between users who accept the new rules and those who continue using the existing version.

That makes the 21 million limit more than a technical setting. It has become a central part of Bitcoin’s appeal as a scarce digital asset. While questions about future mining economics will become more important as block rewards decline, 2140 is still a long way off.

For now, Bitcoin remains capped at 21 million, and changing that rule would require much more than simply updating the software.

📉 Easing inflation pressures reshape the Fed's September outlook
Expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike in September have fallen sharply after new US economic data showed easing price and consumer pressures. ⛓️ Ethereum narrows Hegotá upgrade shortlist to 66 proposals
Ethereum is sorting the proposals considered for Hegotá, its planned 2027 upgrade, with 66 still in contention as of August 16. FOCIL, or EIP-7805, is already marked as “Scheduled” and aims to strengthen censorship resistance by allowing a validator committee to require certain transactions to be included in a block. Three other proposals — EIP-8141, EIP-8250 and EIP-8272 — could provide tools for privacy applications through new transaction structures, independent nonces and recent cryptographic roots. 🚨 Coldcard hack triggers $15 billion in Bitcoin transfers
The Coldcard hack was followed by a much larger movement of Bitcoin as holders transferred around 233,000 BTC, worth roughly $15 billion, to other wallets. The transfers came from wallets that had held their coins for more than 155 days. Some Ledger and Trezor users also moved funds into multisignature setups after the incident. The original Coldcard vulnerability had remained in public code since 2021 and was reportedly identified by an attacker using AI.

🤝 Apple develops a China-focused AI model with Alibaba
Apple has trained an AI model specifically for the Chinese market with technology from Alibaba and Baidu. The model is intended to power Apple Intelligence on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro devices sold in China. Altcoins Show Signs of a Potential Momentum Shift

The cryptocurrency market has remained under pressure for months, with altcoins bearing much of the impact as investor interest and liquidity have weakened across the sector. Despite the prolonged downturn, some analysts believe the altcoin market could be approaching an important turning point as several technical indicators begin to improve.

Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe recently highlighted the conditions that could signal a broader recovery for altcoins. According to his analysis, sustained momentum could emerge when several bullish signals appear together rather than through a single market movement.

Key Signals Analysts Are Watching

Van de Poppe identified multiple strong bullish divergences on higher timeframes, including the daily, three-day and weekly charts, as one of the major signals to monitor. He also pointed to a break above the 21-day and 50-day moving averages, which could indicate that selling pressure is beginning to weaken.

Another important development would be the formation of the first higher high and higher low following an extended downtrend. This would suggest that market structure is changing in favor of buyers. Rising trading volume would further strengthen the signal by showing increased participation behind the move.

Van de Poppe noted that several altcoins are already displaying some of these characteristics, specifically mentioning AAVE, UNI and PUMP. He believes that if more assets begin showing similar patterns, the resulting momentum could become significantly stronger across the broader altcoin market.

Is Altseason Starting Again?

Technical analyst and chart commentator Cryptollica offered a similarly optimistic perspective, arguing that altseason may not be as far away as some investors believe. In a recent X post, the analyst pointed to TOTAL3/BTC, a metric that tracks the combined market capitalization of major altcoins relative to Bitcoin.

According to Cryptollica, TOTAL3/BTC is approaching a long-term support area comparable to levels associated with the beginnings of the 2017 and 2021 altseasons. The analyst also highlighted a prolonged period of compression between rising support and falling resistance.

If that structure eventually breaks upward, Cryptollica believes the move could represent more than a temporary rebound. Instead, it could mark a major shift after years of consolidation and potentially signal the beginning of a new phase for the altcoin market.

📊 XRP ETFs Keep Attracting Money, but the Token Is Losing Momentum

XRP’s investment products are still showing signs of strength, but the token itself is telling a more cautious story. Spot XRP ETFs have now posted a fourth straight week of net gains, suggesting that investors have not completely lost interest. However, the pace of new money entering these products has slowed sharply in August, while XRP has slipped toward the psychologically important $1 level.

💰 XRP ETFs extend their winning streak

July proved to be a relatively strong month for XRP ETFs. After beginning the month with more than $7 million in withdrawals, investor demand returned over the following three weeks, bringing in $6.78 million, $8.15 million, and $14.86 million, respectively.

Together, those moves gave XRP ETFs a $27.29 million net inflow for July. That was enough to extend their positive run, even as Bitcoin and Ethereum-related products experienced heavier pressure earlier in the year.

The momentum, however, has started to lose steam. During the first few sessions of August, XRP ETFs attracted only around $1 million, and two of the five observed trading sessions recorded no net movement. One session also saw approximately $3.58 million leave the products, highlighting how quickly investor enthusiasm can change.

📉 XRP approaches the $1 danger zone

While ETF demand remains positive, XRP’s price performance is becoming harder to ignore. The token recently slipped toward $1.04, bringing it close to the $1 support level that traders are now watching closely.

Holding that level could give XRP room to recover, particularly if ETF inflows begin accelerating again. A move back above $1.05 could provide additional confirmation that buyers are regaining control. On the other hand, continued weakness around the $1 mark could increase concerns about further downside.

The postponement of the US Senate vote on the CLARITY Act has also added another layer of uncertainty to the market.

🔎 ETF strength meets price weakness

For now, XRP is caught between two conflicting signals. Investment products continue to attract capital, but those inflows have become much smaller, while the token itself is testing a critical price area.

That makes the next few sessions particularly important. A stronger return of ETF inflows alongside a sustained move above $1.05 could improve the recovery case. If demand remains weak and the $1 support fails, however, the market could become significantly more cautious.

Crypto Interest Shows Signs of Recovery as Google Searches Climb

After months of cooling enthusiasm across the cryptocurrency market, early signs suggest that public interest may be returning. Following a prolonged decline in Bitcoin’s price, excitement surrounding digital assets also faded, with fewer people searching for crypto-related topics online. However, new data indicates that this trend could be changing.

According to blockchain analytics platform Alphractal, Google searches for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and other leading cryptocurrencies are beginning to increase again. While search activity remains far below the levels recorded during previous market highs, the gradual rise points to renewed curiosity among investors and the wider public.

Growing Interest Signals a Shift in Sentiment

Google Trends has long been used as a useful indicator of market sentiment because it reflects what people are actively searching for. In the crypto industry, rising search volume often suggests growing interest, increased discussion, and the possibility of more participants entering the market.

Alphractal noted that although current search levels are still well below the periods of intense excitement seen during earlier bull markets, the recent increase is worth paying attention to. Rather than signalling excessive hype, the data may indicate that confidence is slowly returning after an extended period of caution.

Retail Investors Could Be Returning

One of the most notable takeaways from the latest data is the possibility that retail investors are becoming active again. Historically, renewed interest from individual investors has played an important role in supporting broader market recoveries.

While higher Google search volumes do not guarantee a sustained price rally, they often serve as an early indicator of changing market sentiment. If the current trend continues, it could signal that confidence is gradually returning to the cryptocurrency market, potentially laying the foundation for stronger participation as market conditions improve.

🏛️ Wall Street Tightens Its Grip on the Crypto Market

The cryptocurrency market is looking more like traditional finance than ever before. According to a new report from Wintermute, institutional investors are now playing a much bigger role in shaping crypto trading, liquidity, and investment trends. Their growing presence is not only changing how the market operates but also making it more structured, with capital flowing into a smaller group of digital assets.

📈 Institutions are driving the market

Professional investors accounted for 72% of over-the-counter (OTC) crypto trading volume in the first half of 2026, up from 61% in the second half of 2025. The sharp increase signals that institutions are becoming the dominant force in crypto trading, while retail participation has taken a back seat.

Unlike individual traders who often react to short-term price swings, institutional investors typically follow long-term strategies with stricter risk management. As a result, more money is flowing into highly liquid cryptocurrencies, reducing speculative trading and giving the market a more stable structure.

₿ Bitcoin steadies as altcoin rallies become more selective

One of the clearest signs of this shift is Bitcoin’s declining volatility. Wintermute found that Bitcoin’s realised volatility has fallen to around 45%, compared with nearly 70% in previous market cycles. This suggests that long-term investment strategies are gradually replacing the rapid buying and selling that once defined the market.

The report also notes that institutional money is becoming increasingly concentrated in a handful of cryptocurrencies. Instead of lifting the entire altcoin market during rallies, capital is now flowing into projects that meet stricter liquidity and risk standards. That means future bull runs may benefit fewer cryptocurrencies, leaving many smaller tokens struggling to attract investor attention.

🚀 Derivatives and tokenisation fuel crypto’s next phase

The market is also becoming more sophisticated beyond spot trading. Wintermute reported that altcoin options trading grew by roughly 3.4 times between the second half of 2025 and the first half of 2026, as investors increasingly used derivatives for hedging and yield strategies rather than simple speculation.

Meanwhile, tokenised real-world assets expanded to about $31 billion, while average monthly transfer volumes climbed past $9 billion. Institutions are leading this trend by focusing on tokenised Treasury bonds, money market funds, and private credit.

Overall, the report suggests Wall Street’s influence on crypto is no longer temporary. While retail investors may become more active during the next bull market, institutional capital is expected to remain the primary force shaping prices, liquidity, and the future direction of the digital asset industry.

Ethereum Back in Focus as Bearish Sentiment Hints at Potential Opportunity

It’s been a while since Ethereum featured in our weekly newsletter, but recent developments make it worth revisiting. While the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation has struggled to gain momentum in recent weeks, several on-chain and technical indicators suggest there may be more happening beneath the surface than the current price action reflects.

When Fear Dominates the Conversation

Market sentiment around Ethereum has taken a noticeable turn for the worse. According to blockchain analytics firm Santiment, conversations across major crypto platforms—including X, Reddit and Telegram—have become increasingly pessimistic over the past month. The level of bearish commentary has now reached one of its lowest points for the third time in just a few weeks, highlighting the growing frustration among market participants as ETH continues to hover around the $1.86K mark.

While that may sound discouraging, history paints a different picture. Santiment’s data shows that previous periods of widespread pessimism did not mark the beginning of prolonged declines. Instead, they came shortly before Ethereum recorded recoveries of around 14% and 7%. Although no historical pattern guarantees the same outcome, the data suggests that extreme market negativity has often appeared near local price bottoms rather than market tops.

The Bigger Picture Remains Intact

Sentiment alone is rarely enough to determine where the market heads next. What makes the current situation more interesting is that Ethereum’s underlying ecosystem continues to show signs of resilience despite the cautious mood among traders.

Institutional interest remains steady, with demand for spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continuing to improve. At the same time, Layer-2 networks are maintaining healthy levels of activity, while ongoing protocol upgrades continue to strengthen Ethereum’s long-term value proposition. These developments suggest that although short-term confidence has weakened, the network itself continues to evolve.

A Technical Breakout Could Change the Narrative

Beyond the on-chain data, technical analysts are also watching Ethereum closely. Crypto analyst Daan Crypto believes ETH is approaching a key level against Bitcoin. A decisive move above its current downtrend, together with a successful reclaim of the daily 200 MA and EMA, could strengthen bullish momentum. If Ethereum also manages to hold above the 0.03 ETH/BTC ratio, it could create room for a broader recovery across the Ethereum ecosystem.

For now, Ethereum remains a cryptocurrency to watch. While sentiment has clearly turned cautious, improving institutional participation, continued ecosystem development and encouraging technical signals suggest the story may be far from over.

📉 How Much of a Bitcoin Drop Can Strategy Really Handle?

Strategy, the company best known for its massive Bitcoin holdings, has introduced a new way to measure how well its financial model could withstand a prolonged decline in Bitcoin’s price.

Rather than identifying a specific price floor, the company created an indicator that estimates the annual rate at which Bitcoin could fall over time before its financial coverage becomes strained. According to Strategy, the metric is designed to give investors a clearer picture of its resilience—not predict where Bitcoin is heading.

🧮 A new metric built around financial strength

Instead of focusing solely on Bitcoin’s price, Strategy’s new BTC Floor ARR combines several factors, including its 843,775 BTC holdings, outstanding debt, preferred shares, cash reserves, and annual financing costs.

Based on the company’s latest figures, Strategy estimates it could withstand a sustained annual Bitcoin decline of 11.34% over the lifespan of its financing structure before its coverage ratio drops below the level it considers financially comfortable. Importantly, this isn’t a liquidation price or a warning that the company would be forced to sell its Bitcoin. Rather, it’s an internal benchmark used to evaluate the strength of its balance sheet under different market conditions.

💰 What the numbers say

To build this model, Strategy used a Bitcoin reference price of $63,769, valuing its reserve at roughly $53.8 billion. Against that, the company reported $6.75 billion in debt, $3.23 billion in cash, and nearly $19 billion in total financial commitments after accounting for preferred shares.

The company also identified a second benchmark of 10.79%, representing the annual return needed for Bitcoin to fully offset its financing costs. Together, these figures create three scenarios: one where Bitcoin comfortably covers financing expenses, another where coverage remains adequate despite weaker returns, and a final scenario where prolonged weakness could eventually require financial restructuring.

📊 A planning tool, not a prediction

Strategy emphasises that these thresholds do not trigger automatic Bitcoin sales, refinancing, or debt defaults. Instead, they’re intended to help investors understand how the company’s finances might respond under prolonged market stress.

ONDO Holds Above Key Level After 18% Rally as On-Chain Activity Stays Strong`

ONDO grabbed the market’s attention after surging about 18% between July 14 and July 16, climbing from roughly $0.31 to $0.37. The rally followed the launch of DTCC-backed tokenised stock representations and a new partnership with Japan’s SBI Group to support tokenised equities.

While price jumps after major announcements are common in crypto, what happened next is what makes ONDO’s move worth watching.

Instead of activity fading after the initial excitement, more users continued to join the network. New addresses climbed from 367 to 562 and then to 754 over the three-day period. At the same time, active addresses rose from 1,410 to 1,971 before reaching 2,589, making it the busiest stretch since June 30. Rather than slowing down after the news, both metrics continued moving higher over the following days.

A Pullback, But Momentum Hasn’t Disappeared

Following the rally, ONDO has entered a short-term correction. On the daily chart, the token is trading around $0.3421 after several consecutive bearish candles, suggesting that traders are taking some profits after the recent run.

Even with the decline, momentum hasn’t completely shifted. The daily RSI currently sits at 51.73, leaving it in neutral-to-bullish territory. That suggests buyers are still holding their ground despite the recent weakness.

Here’s What Comes Next for ONDO

The next few sessions could be important for ONDO. If buyers continue defending the current price area and the RSI stays above the 50 mark, the token could build enough strength for another move higher. A breakout above the recent highs would reinforce that bullish outlook.

On the other hand, if the current weakness continues, ONDO could revisit the $0.33 support zone before attempting its next recovery.

Tokenized Stocks Are Becoming a Key Driver of the RWA Market

The real-world asset (RWA) sector is gaining momentum as more traditional financial assets find their way into the crypto ecosystem. From tokenised funds to digital versions of public equities, activity around RWAs has continued to increase, with recent data showing that the market is reaching new highs.

RWA Trading Activity Hits a New Milestone

According to data from DeFiLlama, monthly trading volume for RWA perpetuals exceeded $100 billion in June for the first time. This growth has been largely supported by public equities and equity indices, which have become some of the strongest categories within the market.

The rise in activity reflects the growing demand around tokenised versions of traditional financial assets. Instead of RWAs remaining a small part of the crypto market, they are becoming a larger segment with increasing trading volume and market participation.

Data from Token Terminal further highlights this expansion. The total market capitalisation of tokenised RWAs has reached an all-time high of $44.3 billion, representing around 120% growth compared to the previous year.

Within the RWA sector, tokenised funds currently hold the leading position. $sUSDS is the largest asset, SkyMoney is the top issuer, and Ethereum remains the dominant blockchain network for tokenised real-world assets.

Tokenized Stocks Gain Ground Within the RWA Market

While tokenised funds currently lead the sector, tokenised stocks have been steadily increasing their presence. Their share of the total RWA market capitalisation has grown significantly, rising from around 1.4% last July to more than 15% today.

The increase in market share is also reflected in trading activity. Monthly on-chain volume for tokenised stocks jumped from $117 million in July 2025 to $3.4 billion in June 2026.

That represents almost 30 times growth within just one year, highlighting how quickly tokenised equities are expanding within the broader RWA ecosystem.

As the RWA market continues to develop, tokenised stocks are emerging as one of the fastest-growing segments, showing that equity-based assets are becoming an increasingly important part of the on-chain financial landscape.

🤖 Investors Shift Focus From Crypto IPOs to Artificial Intelligence

The crypto IPO market is losing momentum in 2026 as investors become more selective with where they place their capital. Instead of pouring money into blockchain companies, many are now turning their attention toward artificial intelligence and major technology stocks. According to Christian Lopez, blockchain lead at Cohen & Company Capital Markets, the slowdown is being driven more by investor caution and changing market conditions than by regulatory concerns.

Crypto Regains Its Footing as Bitcoin Climbs Back Above $63K

The crypto market spent the week quietly rebuilding momentum, with digital assets starting to close the gap after lagging behind more stable traditional markets. It wasn’t a dramatic surge but a steady recovery that pushed sentiment in a better direction.

Altogether, the market added close to $200 billion in value over the week. Bitcoin led the move, pushing back above $63,000 after a recent dip, while Ethereum also recovered to above $1,800 for the first time in over two weeks.

A Gradual Shift Back Toward Buyers

What stands out most is how the tone has changed. After a period of weaker sentiment, softer ETF flows, and cautious positioning from large investors, buyers slowly began stepping back in around key levels.

Bitcoin’s 6.1% weekly gain put it ahead of gold’s 4.8% rise, while equities barely moved over the same period. The contrast wasn’t about one market exploding higher, but more about crypto finally catching up after trailing behind.

There’s also a sense that the recent move is more about stabilisation than anything extreme. Price action has been rebuilding rather than accelerating sharply, which is usually what happens when sentiment starts to reset.

ETF Demand and Selective Strength Return

Institutional flows added a bit more weight to the recovery. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $221.72 million in net buying in a single day — the strongest daily inflow in nearly two months. It wasn’t consistent across every session, but it did show that interest is returning in bursts.

Crypto-linked stocks also reflected the shift. MicroStrategy moved back above $100, while STRC climbed back toward $90, echoing the broader improvement in sentiment.

Overall, the week felt more like a reset than a breakout. Prices stabilised, buyers returned in select areas, and the market started to find its balance again after weeks of drifting.

🪙 Gold and Silver Jump After Weak US Jobs Data

The precious metals market reacted sharply after the latest US employment figures came in much softer than expected. The data suggested that the American labour market is losing steam, and that quickly shifted how investors are reading the Federal Reserve’s next moves. As expectations for tighter policy cooled, demand for gold and silver picked up almost immediately.

🌍 Weak jobs report changes Fed expectations

The US economy added just 57,000 jobs in June, a big miss compared to the 110,000 forecast by economists. At the same time, the unemployment rate climbed to 4.2%, reinforcing concerns that hiring momentum is fading.

This softer data pushed traders to rethink interest rate expectations. The probability of a September rate hike fell from around 66% to the low 50% range, according to market pricing tools. With lower rate expectations, the US dollar eased and real yields declined—both of which tend to support gold.

Gold responded by moving up to about $4,174 per ounce, briefly touching $4,187. The move reflected renewed interest in safe-haven assets as investors adjusted to slower growth signals.

Silver delivered a stronger performance, rising about 7% from roughly $58.3 to $62.4 per ounce. Its gains were supported not only by investor demand but also by industrial usage in sectors like solar energy, electronics, and electric vehicles.

The shift also narrowed the gold-to-silver ratio to 66.9, showing silver gaining relative strength during the rally.

🏦 Big banks adjust forecasts, but long-term demand stays firm

Major financial institutions have started revising their expectations downward. Goldman Sachs trimmed its gold outlook to around $4,900, UBS lowered its projection to about $5,500, and JPMorgan reduced its Q4 estimate to $4,500, compared with much higher earlier targets.

At the same time, broader structural demand remains strong. Surveys indicate that a large share of central banks plan to increase their gold reserves over the coming year, as gold continues to be viewed as a stable reserve asset.

For now, the rally is being driven mainly by weaker economic data and shifting interest rate expectations. The next major trigger will likely come from inflation figures, which will determine whether this momentum continues or starts to fade.

Chainlink has quietly recorded one of its strongest bursts of network growth in 2026 so far. On June 25 and 26, the network added more than 6,000 new wallets combined, with over 3,100 created on the first day and just over 3,000 the next. That kind of back-to-back increase usually doesn’t happen by accident. It often points to fresh users entering the ecosystem rather than short-term traders simply reshuffling funds.

What makes this more interesting is that it’s happening while market prices are still relatively weak. This suggests growing attention around Chainlink’s long-term use case, especially as it continues to position itself as a key layer in on-chain financial infrastructure.

Price action still stuck in a downtrend

While network activity is heating up, the price of LINK hasn’t followed the same path. The token is still hovering around the $7 region and remains stuck in a short-term downtrend. A clear descending trendline shows that every attempt to push higher has been met with selling pressure, forming a pattern that leans bearish in the near term.

Momentum indicators are also leaning cautious. The RSI is sitting in the low 30s, which shows that bearish pressure is still present, although it is edging closer to oversold levels. At the same time, trading volume has been slipping, which usually signals that the market is waiting for a stronger catalyst before making its next big move.

What the divergence could be signalling

This split between rising wallet activity and weak price action is where things get interesting. On one hand, price charts suggest hesitation and continued downside risk if support fails. On the other hand, growing user activity hints at quiet accumulation and increasing confidence in Chainlink’s broader role in tokenised markets and data infrastructure.

If momentum shifts, a break above the current trendline could open a path toward the $7.80 to $8.40 range. But if support around $7.04 gives way, another drop could follow.

For now, Chainlink is telling two different stories at once: short-term uncertainty in price, but longer-term growth building underneath.

📉 Strategy’s Bitcoin Model Is Under Real Pressure

Strategy’s long-running bitcoin accumulation approach is now facing its toughest test yet. The company still holds a massive 847,363 BTC, keeping it as the largest publicly listed corporate holder, but the recent drop in Bitcoin has put its position under strain.

With Bitcoin trading below the $60,000 level during this period, some of Strategy’s newer purchases are now sitting at a loss. Even so, Michael Saylor continues to signal ongoing accumulation, including a recent purchase of 520 BTC, showing that the buying strategy is still active despite weaker market conditions.

🔁 The mNAV drop is changing how the model works

A key turning point is the fall of Strategy’s mNAV below 1.0, down to around 0.80. This means the company’s stock is now trading below the value of the Bitcoin it holds.

That shift is important because the earlier accumulation model depended on the stock trading at a premium. When that was the case, issuing shares helped raise capital in a way that supported further Bitcoin purchases. With mNAV now below 1.0, that mechanism no longer works the same way.

To continue financing its Bitcoin strategy, the company has also relied on STRC preferred shares, but these instruments are now trading below their target value, adding further pressure on fundraising capacity.

📊 A tighter financing environment going forward

With both equity conditions and STRC preferred shares under pressure, Strategy’s ability to raise capital at favourable terms has weakened. That makes future Bitcoin purchases more expensive to fund and reduces flexibility in how aggressively the company can continue its accumulation plan.

This leaves Strategy in a more difficult position: continue buying Bitcoin despite higher financing costs or adjust its approach to protect the structure that supported its earlier growth phase.

The model hasn’t stopped—but the conditions that made it work smoothly are clearly under strain.

Gaah’s analysis of Bitcoin Cycle Momentum shows that the indicator remains below the neutral zone, meaning a full trend reversal has not yet been confirmed. In simple terms, Bitcoin has not produced the type of signal that typically marks the beginning of a new bullish cycle.

Holding above the moving average for another week would reinforce the market’s recent resilience. A move beyond $66,000 would add further evidence that buyers are regaining control and that the recent low could represent a significant turning point.

If those conditions are met, Bitcoin may have a stronger foundation for a broader advance, with the possibility of testing higher price levels in the months ahead.

For now, the technical picture remains mixed. Long-term indicators have yet to confirm a new bull cycle, but several market signals suggest that Bitcoin may be laying the groundwork for a recovery.
